MUBS-K4D
The MUBS Knowledge for Development Centre (MUBS-K4D Centre) was establishment in 2021 as a collaboration between Makerere University Business School (MUBS) and Knowledge for Development Partnership (K4DP) to help transform Uganda into a sustainable knowledge society and economy, provide educational and training programmes in knowledge management and advance knowledge sciences on a global level through research. Knowledge is recognized as an essential resource and an indispensable prerequisite for the sustainable development of societies and economies all over the world as enshrined in the UN Sustainable Development Goal 17.
Strategic Objectives
1. Developing and enhancing knowledge management competences and practices.
2.Advancing knowledge sciences, technologies and innovations through multi-disciplinary research on the key challenges of the knowledge ecosystem.
3. Promoting and advocating for Knowledge Management at all levels of development
4. Promoting knowledge sharing, partnerships and collaborations.
5. Fostering the culture of knowledge and strengthening knowledge institutions.
Activities and Services
The Centre offers transformational education and training programmes in Knowledge Management, Knowledge Sciences and Knowledge-based Development; scientific research and consultancy services, technology and innovation products; technical support, advisory and community outreach services; publication and advocacy services, knowledge art and cultural products all aim at accelerating the achievement of happy knowledgeable citizens and knowledge-driven collaborative and/or competitive organizations in Uganda.

The Centre is governed by a 5-members board comprising, the Principal of MUBS as Chairperson, Executive Director of K4DP, a representative of the Government Ministries, Department and Agencies (MDAs), a representative of the MUBS Faculty of Management. The Director of the Centre is the Secretary to the Board.
